Man suspected of selling drugs arrested at Newport motel

Is there a day that we don't get to see news about drug addiction? All over the world, there's always something about drugs. It can news about arrest of people using or selling it or about the increasing number of users. When it's about drugs, nothing is really "good news". This is because even an arrest means that a life has been put at risk or even destroyed. Just like this man who was suspected of selling drugs and was arrested. So what happens to him after the arrest?

The only thing we can hope for is for him to change into better and try to get back on his feet. People like him should really realize that there's always a way out of drugs. As long as they acknowledge that they need help and are willing to be helped, there are a lot of recovery centers that can give them their lost life back.

 

NEWPORT, OR (KPTV) - A 33-year-old man accused of selling drugs across Lincoln County was arrested at a Newport motel Tuesday.

Joseph Daniel Vinson of Newport was arrested after he was fount in a motel room in the 700 block of North Coast Highway.

According to police, officers received a tip on Vinson’s location, who had outstanding warrants for his arrest. He is accused of selling large amounts of narcotics in the Lincoln County area.

Police said officers determined Vinson was inside the motel room after conducting surveillance.

Officers obtained a search warrant and found Vinson along with his 58-year-old mother.

Inside the room, K-9 Nero alerted officers to the presence of narcotics. Police then found methamphetamine, a large sum of cash and drug use paraphernalia.

Officers also obtained a warrant to search Vinson’s vehicle. K-9 Nero detected more narcotics and police found another supply of methamphetamine, digital scale, packaging materials and drug use paraphernalia.

Vinson’s mother was cited and released at the scene for possession of controlled substance – methamphetamine, while Vinson was arrested and booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

He faces charges of delivery, manufacturing and possession of a controlled substance, all for methamphetamine, and Oregon Parole Board warrant...
